Predictors of Outcome in Hospitalized Adult COVID-19 Patients Admitted to a Tertiary Hospital in Chattogram

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic emerged as a major public health emergency affecting the healthcare services all over world. It is essential to analyze epidemiological and clinical characteristics of patients with in different parts our country. This study highlights experience managing at tertiary care centre southeastern Bangladesh.
 Materials methods: Clinical outcomes consecutive 199 adult admitted Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Chattogram, Bangladesh, from February 1 March 31, 2021 were studied this prospective observational study. diagnosis SARS-CoV-2 infection was confirmed by real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) on throat and/or nasopharyngeal swabs. All managed according hospital’s consensus protocol accordance National Guidelines management COVID-19.
 Results: median age 57 years (Range: 20-102 years) 118 (59.3%) male. One hundred thirty two (67.3%) had associated comorbid condition diabetes (44.7%) hypertension (33.3%) most common. Majority (57.3%) classified having moderate severity mortality 10.1% (20 patients) observed. Elderly (>60 years), mellitus, elevated levels D-dimer neutrophillymphocyte ratio predictors mortality.
 Conclusions: These findings suggest that rate elderly comorbidity high neutrophil-lymphocyte could be cost effective predictor context.
